Homemade Croutons from Fresh Milled Flour
It is best to use bread that is 4-5 days old so you get a nice crunch. These croutons are so delicious when made this way, they are also healthy!
Instructions:
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Slice the Bread: Cut the bread into cubes. Aim for even sizes to ensure uniform cooking.
Coat with Olive Oil: Place the bread cubes in a large bowl. Drizzle enough olive oil to coat the bread evenly. Toss the cubes gently to ensure they are well-coated.
Season the Bread: Sprinkle salt, pepper, garlic powder, and parsley over the bread cubes. Adjust the amount of seasoning according to your taste. Toss the cubes again to distribute the seasoning evenly.
Bake: Spread the seasoned bread cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the croutons are nice and crunchy. Flip the croutons halfway through the baking time to ensure even cooking.
Cool and Store: Once baked, remove the croutons from the oven and let them cool completely. Store in an airtight container to maintain their crunch.
