Vegan & Gluten-free Healthier Caramel Sauce

Get ready to indulge in the goodness of our Vegan & Gluten-free Healthier Caramel Sauce. This caramel sauce is not only incredibly tasty but also made with healthier ingredients that everyone will enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 can coconut milk 

  • 1/4 cup coconut oil (melted)

  • dash of salt

  • 1/3 cup maple syrup

  • 1 1/2 cup sucanat (sugar-cane-natural)

  • 1/4 cup water • plus 3 tbsp for later

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 3 tbsp arrowroot powder

Instructions:

  1. Whisk together coconut milk, coconut oil, and salt and set to the side. 

  2. In saucepan add all the sweeteners and water (1/4 cup). Bring to a slow boil and then stir to make sure it doesn’t burn. 

  3. Lower heat to simmer and whisk in coconut milk mixture. Slowly return to boil. 

  4. Reduce heat. Mix together 3 tbsp cold water with 3 tbsp arrow root and then slowly whisk into caramel sauce 1 tbsp at a time to thicken. 

  5. Allow to cool for 5 minutes and stir in vanilla.

  6. After cooled for about 15 minutes, cover and place in fridge for storage. Stir before using.
