Homemade Cinnamon Bread

Making homemade cinnamon bread is easier (and more delicious) than ever! Packed with fresh, wholesome ingredients like freshly ground wheat berries, flaxseed, and honey, this recipe gives you a healthier take on a classic favorite. Perfect for baking at home!

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups freshly ground wheat berries (approx. 6 cups flour)

  • 1 1/2 cups hot water (100°F)

  • 1/3 cup oil (butter, olive oil, or coconut oil)

  • 1/3 cup honey

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tbsp lecithin (optional)

  • 1/3 cup ground flaxseed

  • 1 tbsp yeast

  • Softened butter for spreading

  • Sucanat or coconut sugar (for filling)

  • Generous amount of cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Mix water, honey, salt, egg, and oil in a large bowl.

  2. Add freshly ground flour, flaxseed, lecithin, and yeast. Stir until dough forms.

  3. Knead dough for about 5-7 minutes, then let it rise for an hour.

  4. Roll out the dough, spread softened butter, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Roll it up.

  5. Place in a greased bread pan and let it rise for 30 minutes.

  6. Bake at 350°F for about 35 minutes or until golden brown. Test with an internal temperature of 205°F.
